Coach Robb Akey provides excellent insight into defensive line play in their attacking, multiple front 4-3 defense. Areas covered in this tape include a detailed discussion on the multiple fronts they use to defend various offensive sets and also to take exploit match-up advantages. Included in this are the assignments and responsibilities for each line position. In the individual development part of the tape, Coach Akey teaches the critical fundamentals and techniques needed to develop dominant defensive lineman. The fundamentals are broken down involving the eyes, hands, hips and feet as they pertain to five critical areas- stance, attack progression or run support; pass progression, shedding blocks and tackling. The drills they use to teach these fundamentals are demonstrated.
